Prostitution has always been linked to the red light milieu. In 2002, the Federal Republic of Germany started the first "attempt at improvement" to get prostitution out of immorality. In 2007, the federal government already admitted that the aim of the prostitution law had failed. Prostitutes are hardly covered by social security and organized crime has increased rather than decreased as a result of liberalization. It is not the opportunities to get out of prostitution that have improved, but the opportunities to get into it. The second attempt at improvement, the Prostitute Protection Act, also failed: at the end of 2020, around 24,900 prostitutes were registered with the authorities. Thus, ¾ of an estimated 200,000 prostitutes work in the so-called dark field. Prostitution and human trafficking cannot be separated from each other: freer than asking cannot differentiate. A third attempt to rectify the problem will also fail. The Nordic Model Alliance stands for rethinking prostitution policy and for the introduction of the Nordic Model in Germany.
Goal
Different mechanisms are at work in the system of prostitution, which will be presented in the webinar. In the webinars, the individual actors are highlighted: what effects does prostitution have on the prostitutes, the profiteers (e.g. clients) and on society. After a look at the legal situation, the Nordic model is presented.

For politicians and employees at all political levels in municipalities, cities and communities at state and federal level, we offer the 45-minute webinar "In a nutshell - Consequences of liberal prostitution legislation and the Nordic model as a solution". We also offer online webinars to explain the loverboy method. We can contact alliance partners for face-to-face events.

The Nordic Model Alliance is active nationwide and includes over 45 associations, networks and initiatives as well as numerous individuals from civil society.
Our goal is the introduction and implementation of the Nordic model in Germany.
All Allies regard prostitution as a form of violence against women, as a violation of the equality of women and men and as a violation of women's human dignity.
